Project Executive

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual to join our project delivery team.

You will have the opportunity to work on a range of project types: printed supplements, videos, animations, webinars, and working party meetings of healthcare experts to agree new best practice clinical guidance. Communication skills are key in this client-facing role, and you will be a key point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders for each project.

Key responsibilities:

The project executive will assist the delivery of multiple projects and programmes on time and to budget while maintaining a high level of customer (internal and external) satisfaction.

Key responsibilities will include:

Liaison with pharmaceutical company clients, providing regular updates on ongoing projects

  • Co-ordination between internal stakeholders: medical editors, sales team, design and production, brand managers
  • Liaison with suppliers—printers, webinar providers, venues, audio-visual suppliers
  • Communication with key healthcare professionals contributing to MGP projects
  • Management of project timelines
  • Coordinating and attending internal and client set-up meetings and teleconferences
  • Updating the projects database and project management software
  • Preparing project cost analyses and working with the accounts manager to arrange invoicing
  • Tracking and reporting project uptake metrics, such as email open rates and webinar registrations.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A keen interest in the pharmaceutical industry and science communication

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Life sciences degree
  • An understanding of relevant terminology: disease area, healthcare, pharmaceutical

Assistant Editor 

Under our titles (Guidelines, Guidelines in Practice, Guidelines for Nurses, and Guidelines for Pharmacy), the Publications Team provides multimedia content that supports healthcare professionals with their delivery of high-quality patient care based on best-practice clinical guidance.

If you have over 2 years’ experience in medical publishing/communications, then this could be your perfect role.

Key responsibilities:

Ensuring the quality and accuracy of materials produced by MGP is of the utmost importance. Reporting to the Editor, you will play a key role in the development of content across our brands and projects and will be required to:

  • identify, produce, and update content in line with audience needs
  • lead editorially on assigned projects through to publication, to include:
         - liaising with professional bodies 
         - incorporation of professional body/author comments 
         - keeping internal and external stakeholders updated as appropriate 
         - following processes and meeting deadlines 
  • proofread and subedit copy
  • support press activities and ensure deadlines are met
  • apply MGP house style
  • fact check content against references
  • write news articles and other short pieces
  • artwork copy using InDesign
  • upload copy to our content management system.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Medical communications or publications experience—online and print
  • Life science or media/publishing degree (or higher) or equivalent experience
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Strong time management, project management, and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to work independently and across teams
  • Ability to follow processes.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Experience of subediting
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the Association of the British Pharmaceutical Industry (ABPI) Code of Practice
  • Experience of InDesign
  • Experience of content management systems
  • Commercial awareness
  • Experience of promoting content on social media.
