Projects Editor

We are looking for someone with excellent proofreading and editing skills to join our project delivery team.

The quality and accuracy of materials produced by MGP is of the utmost importance. The projects editor will be the in-house editorial lead on a variety of educational resources projects, some commissioned by pharmaceutical company clients and some funded through arm’s-length educational grants. 

Key responsibilities:

The projects editor will have the opportunity to work on a range of multimedia project types, including printed supplements and articles, videos, animations, webinars, and working party meetings of healthcare experts to agree new best practice clinical guidance, ensuring the quality and accuracy of all materials produced.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Proofreading all types of project at all stages to ensure accuracy of copy
  • Copy editing, rewriting, and restructuring content as necessary for all types of project
  • Writing copy: for example, author briefs, content of emails to the MGP audience of healthcare professionals
  • Liaising with key opinion leaders in the healthcare industry to produce high quality content
  • Working with freelance medical writers and facilitators
  • Communicating with pharmaceutical company clients, working closely with MGP’s sales team and project managers
  • Attending internal and client set-up meetings and teleconferences.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Life science degree (or higher) with an understanding of disease area terminology
  • Excellent proofreading skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent time-management, project-management, and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Knowledge of Adobe InDesign (further training will be provided).

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Previous experience of medical communications or publishing
  • Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry and the ABPI Code of Practice
  • Experience of using online content management systems (MGP uses Webvision)
  • Experience of using online approval systems (e.g. Veeva Vault PromoMats)

Project Executive

We are looking for a confident and enthusiastic individual to join our project delivery team.
You will have the opportunity to work on a range of project types: printed supplements, videos, animations, webinars, and working party meetings of healthcare experts to agree new best practice clinical guidance. Communication skills are key in this client-facing role, and you will be a key point of contact for a wide range of stakeholders for each project.

Key responsibilities:

The project executive will assist the delivery of multiple projects and programmes on time and to budget while maintaining a high level of customer (internal and external) satisfaction.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • liaison with pharmaceutical company clients, providing regular updates on ongoing projects
  • coordination between internal stakeholders: medical editors, sales team, design and production, brand managers
  • liaison with suppliers—printers, webinar providers, venues, audio-visual suppliers
  • communication with key healthcare professionals contributing to MGP projects
  • management of project timelines
  • coordinating and attending internal and client set-up meetings and teleconferences
  • updating the projects database and project management software
  • preparing project cost analyses and working with the accounts manager to arrange invoicing
  • tracking and reporting project uptake metrics, such as email open rates and webinar registrations.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A keen interest in the pharmaceutical industry and science communication.

Desirable skills and experience:

  • Life sciences degree
  • An understanding of relevant terminology: disease area, healthcare, pharmaceutical

Print and Digital Artworker

This is a full-time role. Reporting to the Head of Publications, you will be required to provide artworking and design resource across several areas of the company, including MGP publications, marketing materials, commercial projects, and content production.

Key responsibilities:

The project executive will assist the delivery of multiple projects and programmes on time and to budget while maintaining a high level of customer (internal and external) satisfaction.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Artworking in-house and client email campaigns
  • Generation of materials for events, including print and online advertisements, PowerPoint templates, and delegate packs
  • Designing and maintaining advertisements for MGP products and services—digital and print
  • Maintaining marketing materials, for example product information sheets, sales slide decks
  • Creating design elements for use online and during events
  • Designing HTML banner advertisements
  • Supporting the Publications team on print publications, including page layouts, cover design, and journal building using InDesign
  • Supporting brand developments and adaptations to logos
  • Supporting the Production team with artwork for press weeks ahead of printing deadlines
  • Creation of animated digital adverts for marketing campaigns and client projects
  • Suggesting and coming up with new and fresh ideas for various design projects.

Essential skills and experience:

  • Excellent time management and organisational skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A keen interest in the pharmaceutical industry and science communication.

Desirable skills and experience:

Commercial experience of the following would be an advantage:

  • Email layout
  • Adobe Creative Cloud (particularly Animate, InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop)
  • Microsoft Office
  • Apple OSX.
